Hey guys!
How did I start it all?
Last 10 and more years I was working on CG orientated art and playing computer games. So one day, I popped into the The Mug and Meeple caffe downstairs where I live. I saw some friendly lads playing Start Wars X-Wing game. They quickly introduced me to it and few months later my wardrobe was full of X-Wing ships. But theese were all pre-painted. I started looking some other game to play, paint miniatures and make terrain pieces.
I've found this game, was really amazed about it's design and character art style. I bought it.
I've got myself Iwata Custom Micron airbrush and a bunch of vallejo acrylic paints. Assembled starting survivors, some monsters and bahhh, it's so beautifully made, so I am so scared to paint it and possibly ruin it lol.
I decided that I'm gonna make my own terrain pieces first, and paint them in order to gain some experience, because when painting minis there is no Ctrl+Z :)
Last time I was modelling dinosaurs and ninja turtles with plasteline when I was a kid. This time I wanted to remember my childhood and try new modeling clay Fimo.
At the first stage the stone face looked horrible :)
I've finally finished it, added some real stones on it, and baked in the oven on 110 Celsius for 30-40 minutes. Started modelling a second stone face, this time I found my girlfriends hair color box and used the model's face as reference for sculpting.
This time I wasn't so pacient and I baked a second stone face on 140 Celsius for 40 minutes and what happened, it has changed the color from white to nice worm skin color lol
and I've added some real stones to it as swell. I used milliput to attach the stones, and green stuff to make some roots and leaves.
ohh, and for fun, I've sculpted some tiny stone heads.
finally, first time I used my Iwata airbrush, and encountered some troubles blocking it. After disassembling and cleaning it few time I learned some tricks, how to mix vallejo black primer with vallejo airbrush flow improver and vallejo airbrush thinner. So I primed it in black and then sprayed with gray from 45 degrees simulating ambient light.
added vallejo Umber Wash 73.203
Added vallejo Green Wash 73.205
So finally, I've learned how to model with my fingers again lol, how to use an airbrush, what effect does paint wash. Difference in FIMO, Green Stuff and milliput and bunch of other things.

It is still in progress, after I'll make more terrain pieces, I'll give a last brush to fit everything together nicely.
